Desmond C.B. Lyons

A founding partner of the firm, Mr. Lyons has more than 15 years experience managing the legal needs of high growth companies, finance professionals, government entities and high net worth individuals; adding value to companies’ bottom lines, protecting their assets and helping them preserve their rights. Additionally, Mr. Lyons has represented individuals, non-profit organizations, along with small and medium sized businesses in venues throughout the tri-state area, including: Federal and State Courts, administrative tribunals and arbitration panels in a number of areas including: commercial litigation; shareholder disputes; corporate dissolution; negligence defense; insurance coverage issues; criminal defense, municipal and employment law.

Mr. Lyons is a member of the Federal Magistrate Merit Selection Panel of the Southern District of New York, the Federal Bar Council, Westchester Committee, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association; and the Westchester County Bar Association. Mr. Lyons is a Court appointed Mediator and Hearing Officer in the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Westchester County.

Mr. Lyons is currently Village Justice for the Village of Irvington.

The Chairman of the Brehon Law Society in Westchester County, Mr. Lyons served as Village Prosecutor for the Village of Irvington (2000-2010), the Village of Elmsford, the Village of Sleepy Hollow (2006-2009) and the Village of Ardsley (2001-2004). He is the author of “Building the Pyramid: The Use of Cumulative Penalties in Municipal Code Prosecutions” in the Westchester Bar Journal, Spring/Summer Edition 2009.

An active supporter of the Inner City Scholarship Fund, Mr. Lyons serves on Lawyer’s Committee for the Inner City Scholarship Fund, was formerly on the Advisory Board of St. Angela Merici School in the Bronx and is Past Chairman of the Advisory Board of Immaculate Conception School in Irvington.

Mr. Lyons is also active in a variety of business and trade related organizations such as: The Ireland-U.S. Council for Commerce and Industry, the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States, the Irish International Business Network, the Westchester County Association and the Irish Technology Leadership Group.

In December of 2009, Mr. Lyons was selected as an honoree in the Irish Echo’s 2009 Top Law & Order edition. Additionally, Mr. Lyons has been an occasional Legal Commentator on the FOX News Channel and a Legal Analyst on WFAS News Radio.

Mr. Lyons resides in Irvington with his wife Kerry and their five children.
